We would love to see if people out there would be interested in building on the work we have put into Dolores. To help this process along we plan to share all our resources from these pages.

This should get you going:

  • Make sure you have Dolores and the Source SDK installed
  • Copy nightmare.fgd (Save link as...) to <STEAM-DIR>\SteamApps\SourceMods\Nightmare\
  • Double click on <STEAM-DIR>\SteamApps\<YOUR STEAM ACCOUNT>\sourcesdk\bin\vconfig.exe
    • Select “Add”
    • Under “Name” put "Dolores" and browse to <STEAM-DIR>\SteamApps\SourceMods\Nightmare, click “Select” and then “OK”
  • Open <STEAM-DIR>\SteamApps\<YOUR STEAM ACCOUNT>\sourcesdk\bin\GameConfig.txt (With a text editor such as Notepad)
    • Find the section Dolores and add these separate lines under the GameData0 line: 
"GameData1"        "<STEAM-DIR>\SteamApps\SourceMods\Nightmare\nightmare.fgd"
"GameData2"        "<STEAM-DIR>\SteamApps\<YOUR STEAM ACCOUNT>\sourcesdk\bin\halflife2.fgd"
    • Save the file
  • Run Steam, open Source SDK and select "Dolores" under Current Game and Hammer away...
  • If you need a little inspiration then you can start with our latest map
